alil update on xanga, finally. kinda forget about this site when everyone has facebook and updates that more regularly...

2/3 of our household is doing great. my husband has the 'swine' flu. hate that term. he was pretty sick all wk w/ a high fever and terrible coughing and after a few days of not getting better, i took him to the dr and he got tested for swines and has it. but praise the Lord, he's finally feeling better. its so fun to have him get better--the house was so quiet and boring when he slept all day or was feeling awful. now hes getting his humor back again and is up and around more. so im happy to see that. so thats 1/3 of our house. the other 1/3 is me and im good. trying to stay away from the flu... and the other 1/3.....*drum roll*................is happy as ever. that 1/3 is my puppy he loves having someone at home so he doesnt have to stay caged up in his cage while we're at work. as far as any new news... i gave my husband 2 tickets to the eagles vs giants game so we were there watching them. AWESOME game. he loved every minute of that gift and same here. this was for his christmas gift. speaking of christmas, i cant believe its a month away! time flies.

ONE BUSY SUMMER

like everyone always says-i cant believe its august already-whered the summer go? but its true. june was filled with vacations and i thought july would be an open month filled with getting things done at home but it turned out to be a really fun, busy month full of campings and being with friends and family. we camped w/ ryans best friend and his wife and watched them play in a sball tourny, another wknd my 2 brothers and my sister in laws came out to see us! that was so fun. and another wknd we had another touny and camped with gary and jodelle's and went out on the lake. we also celebrated my husbands birthday and this month is already starting to fill up again! a trip to ohio for joy's wedding and a trip to sc to see friends and another sball tournament coming up... if i would have my computer id post pictures but im not on mine. i guess this was just alittle update on us...

COMPANY

i dont know if i can say how excited i am that you would really understand the fullness of the excitement! if that made sense. my brother and his wife are coming to see us this weekend! first time since we bought our house that we live in. so im imagining the wknd will consist of hanging out, watching ryans softball game tomorrow night, shopping, golfing, eating, and just having fun together. only downer is-u wait so long for a wknd like this and it usually flies by way to fast...

this wk was ryans birthday. so we (him and i) celebrated it by having clam chowder, some baked sandwiches, and coffee. thats what he's wanted for so long so i finally made it for his birthday. we ate it while watching a movie. he always wishes we could do that-i always insist that every night be spent at the table face to face i had fun. i think he did i love my husband so much. every yr keeps getting better. i could go on and on about him but i figured you dont need to know it all.

well-work is soon done and i need to scoot.

GARDENING

every year i get excited to have a garden and that idea always dies because we never have had room for a garden and well-their could possibly be room at our house we have now but our backyard is mostly shade so im afraid my garden wouldnt do so well...so this year i planted a few things at ryans parents garden. im sure theirs is 5 acres-ok so im exagerating alil. i planted a row of green beans hoping to get some...well...they're giving me beyond what i expected! almost too much but ill be thankful for them in months to come... i did try something new this yr. i planted lettuce, brocoli, onions, and peppers in pots and put them on my deck so those annoying rabbits and anything else dont decide to enjoy a lunch... the lettuce is doing great, brocoli is shooting up, my onions are pry ready to be eaten, and i have 3 small tiny peppers coming! i cant wait. i was hoping it'd work and that i could have fresh veggies this summer. maybe ill have to try heidi's idea of a garden next yr-if i can convince ryan but just not sure where id put it... u should check her garden out. i like it, heidi

well...i should be moving along...thoughd id update everyone w/ my gardening news. btw-dont take ur dog on a walk when theirs fresh tar patches on the road. i did that today adn sadly the poor guy had tar all over his paws and his stomach. this was over my lunch break so i had to hurry home and snip them all out-he sat so calmly while i did it so that was nice. ok the end.

SUMMER

every year we tell ourselves we will not let the next summer get so busy as this year...well it sure didnt happen this year. june has been the craziest month. but that came to a close and things are slowly slowing down...so far. the first full week of june my boss closes the office for their vacation so thats the time ryan and i take ours. so we hit the beach in new jersey for the wk with only one profitable beach day. the rest were spent being tourists, walking the boardwalk, and being together again... came back and my parents were here for a long wknd. that was so fun. i love when family comes out. they left and that evening and thurs we helped with vbs at our church and thurs night we were off w/ gary and jodelle to their cabin in ny for the wknd. we loved that. we rode 4-wheelers all wknd through the rain and mud and scrapbooked alot... came back and 2 days later ryan adn i were off to creation for the wk w/ the shantz that was so much fun. lots of concerts, hanging out, and even hanging out w/ church buddies. so that was june... who knows what july holds.

but theirs so many things to be grateful for...ill mention just a few while i have time to type (im at work)

a) im thankful for the most loving husband-he even takes care of me whne im sick and he's sick

b) my lil puppy   hes always excited to see me when i get home from work

c) our lil house. i like the smallness

d) my job

e) a car that still chugs (over 200,000 + miles)

f) small trips we can make

g) gas isnt $4 a gallon

h) country living magazine

and theirs lots more... thats just a sample
